Technical specifications and a detailed multi-level architectural design document were the primary deliverables. Client interviews made it easier to establish the platform and design of a flexible Activity Based Costing Database and Calculation Engine. The “cookie cutter” design was applied to a variety of situations where the bank required a powerful data analysis tool to aid them with primary budgetary decision making and cost analysis. “Business as usual”, “demand forecast”, and “what if” analysis were primary benefits which were realized with the system. With successful completion of the browser-based prototype, the company is now able to use the tool to express insightful representations of their budgetary data to upper Management.
